Algaeo Biofertilizer Application Guide
May 11, 2026 · Wizemode
Algaeo was developed with soil health, plant resilience, and self sufficiency in mind. Our product contains 13 natural and organic microbes that are each proven to benefit soil health and plant yield.
We have developed a guide to walk you through how to apply Algaeo to your soil.
1. Liquid Concentrate: The Weekly Biological Boost
The liquid format is perfect for those who want an immediate response. It contains living biology delivered at a high concentration of $10^9CFU/mL, making it ideal for regular maintenance throughout the growing season.
- The Golden Ratio: Always dilute the concentrate at a 1:9 ratio (1 part Algaeo to 9 parts water).
- The Routine: For most raised beds, apply about 250–330 mL of the mixture once per week.
- Pro-Tip: Apply on your lowest-EC day (plain water day) to ensure the biology has the best environment to thrive.
- Storage: Because it is a living product, keep your liquid refrigerated between 35–45°F and use it within 14–21 days of receipt. While it can survive up to 6 months outside of the refrigerator, the microbes in the bottle are constantly consuming nutrients to remain alive and will eventually deplete them if their metabolism is not slowed via cold-storage.
2. Dry Powder: The Slow-Release Foundation
Our dry powder utilizes a bentonite clay and biochar carrier to stabilize the same 13-strain consortium for long-term delivery. This is your go-to for building a strong foundation during planting or for low-maintenance monthly care.
- Pre-Planting: Broadcast the powder across your bed and "scratch it in" to the top 1–2 inches of soil.
- Monthly Maintenance: For established plants, simply scratch the powder into the soil around the drip line.
- Water is Key: Biology needs moisture to activate! Always water the soil thoroughly immediately after applying the powder.
- Convenience: The powder is shelf-stable for 12+ months at room temperature—no refrigeration required.
What to Expect in Your Garden
When you feed the soil with Algaeo, you aren't just feeding the plant; you're changing the environment below the surface.
| Timeframe | What You’ll See | The Science |
|---|---|---|
| Week 2 | Deeper green leaves and more vigorous growth. | Nitrogen fixation is ramping up. |
| Weeks 3-4 | Increased root density and a uniform canopy. | Phosphorus solubilization is active. |
| Month 2+ | Higher yields and reduced disease pressure. | Biocontrol strains like Bacillus subtilis are established. |
| Season End | Friable soil and increased earthworm activity. | Organic carbon is building soil structure. |
Whether you are growing leafy greens that respond in just two weeks or slow-starting peppers, Algaeo’s application methods are designed to fit your workflow while delivering professional-grade results.
